FEATHERS READY TO FLY IN IDAHO!!

Pheasants 012
The advance of spring can be an exciting time. Two beautifully plumaged roosters continue their argument over who has the biggest tail feathers or some other comparable attribute. The contest started in the middle of a road and progressed to a nearby field.   If your ready to move to Idaho and enjoy all it’s wildlife, check out all our Idaho Real Estate at www.myidahocountry.com

Idaho Public Lands

Kooskia Idaho

, where I live,  is just a few miles from the largest contingent parcel of  public lands in the Lower 48 states.  Together they all add up to over 3 million acres of Idaho State Forest Lands, National Forest, B.L.M. lands, and Wilderness Areas.  I spend all my spare time out there hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, berry picking, mushrooming, firewood cutting, and of course, barbecuing a steak or two.  Somehow the food tastes better and the wine is a little finer when your in the Idaho back woods. It is truly an outdoorsman paradise and I am privileged to be able to live here.  You should try it!!  Check us out at www.myidahocountry.com

Fishing in Idaho

Living in Kooskia Idaho, which lies at the confluence of the Middlefork and Southfork Branches of the Clearwater River, it’s pretty natural that I do a fair amount of fishing.  In January I put on my thermals, buy some maggots and go after whitefish.  Most everyone has their own secret receipes for smoking them-mines the best.  As the ice begins to break up in late February and early March, I switch to the big boys, ocean going Steelhead.  The B run on the Southfork of the Clearwater River will usually produce 20 plus pounders.  Later, through mid-summer, Chinook  Salmon start to run.  A little lady I know landed a 35 pounder awhile back.  Summer and early fall produce great cutthrout trout fly fishing, particularly in the nearby pristine Lochsa and Selway Rivers which feed Idaho’s Clearwater River. The smallmouth bass fishing also gets hot, and I like to pop over to the Salmon River near Riggins Idaho and float a section with my rubber raft.

Idaho has many prestine Rivers and Mountain Ranges!

Every cast-a strike!!!  Idaho’s  Salmon River is also the home of the giant white sturgeon and a 6 or 7 footer will sure get your attention.  Well, just jotting this all down is getting my excited, I’m going fishing! What about you.  Check us out @ www.myidahocountry.com
